AbstractWe demonstrate a passively Q-switched Ho, Pr: LiLuF4 laser at 2.95 mu m using a WS2 saturable absorber (SA). A shortest pulse width of 654 ns was achieved with an average output power of 82 mW and the repetition rate of 90.4 kHz at T = 2%. Our result reveals that WS2 -SAs have great potential to be the modulator in mid-IR wavelength range. D
