AbstractAn colloid was photoinduced by a focused infrared femto-second laser at 800 nm. The Au colloid was characterized by absorption spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A mechanism for the formation of Au nanoparticles was proposed.
