AbstractThe gadolinium, gallium garnet (Gd3Ga5O12, GGG) polycrystalline powder with pure phase has been prepared by coprecipitation method. The key factors for preparation of GGG powder by liquid-phase method were discussed in the paper. Compared with solid-state synthesis, the coprecipitation method possesses the merits of lower synthesis temperature and shorter sintering time. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
